Busy, busy, busy......

This week Kevin and I had our individual interviews with the adoption agency. The next step is our home inspection. It'll be this month or next. I've got lots to do in preparation. I don't have enough time for everything so it looks like I'm gonna have to cut my computer time. I'll keep blogging but it just won't be as often. Until later....

Swim Lessons

Heidi and Kolton started swim lessons Monday. They are both doing very well.

4th of July Weekend Continued

We stayed with Kevin's sister while we were visiting. I'm sure it's hard to accommodate a family of six and their two dogs so we are always very grateful.

Saturday night we went to Grandma Hart's to have dinner. Then we walked up the street where we were able to see the city's firework display. We went back to the house and played games until the kids were tired and we had to leave.

Sunday we went to church and then visited the Reagan Library with Aunt Jennifer. I'd recommend it if any of you are ever in the area. For more information click "HERE".

We were able to see a replica of the oval office and the actual plane used as Air Force One when Reagan was president. The library displayed portraits of all the presidents. Near the gift shop we found a portrait of Reagan made entirely of jelly beans. (Posted below.)

4th of July Weekend

Usually we go to Oklahoma for the fourth of July, but this year we spent time with Kevin's family. Friday we visited Kevin's dad for a couple of hours. He took us out for pizza and afterwards we raced each other in the arcade. My kids sure are crazy drivers, lol.

I have more pictures I'd like to post, but looks like it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I've got lots of cleaning and laundry to catch up on.

My family came to visit!

On Monday my mom and 2 of my brothers drove in all the way from Kansas city. What a drive. lol They stayed until Wednesday and then had to head back. :( It was great having them out here. The time flew by so fast.

We were able to spend a day at the beach. It was the first time my brothers had been in the ocean. I don't think they expected the water to be so cold. haha We also took a short tour of the base and went bowling. Here are a few of the pictures.

Flower Festival

Last Saturday we went to the Flower Festival Parade in Lompoc. The kids were feeling better and their fevers were gone so I thought it would be nice to spend the day outside. I guess it was too soon. Kolton threw up during the parade. He said, "Sorry mom. It was just a little, I swallowed the rest." Yuck! I felt so bad for the little guy. I gave him some water and he was fine the rest of the day.

After the parade we had an appointment to get family pictures taken. I considered rescheduling, but decided against it. We haven't done a family portrait for a long time. My friend who was taking the pictures has a very full schedule and the only reason we had the appointment was because someone cancelled. The session went alright. Danette took tons of pictures so I'm hoping she got a least a few good shots. Towards the end Annika threw up.

Sunday we stayed home to rest. It was pretty obvious after Saturday that the kids were still sick.

Allergy test

Since we've moved to California Annika's eczema has been really bad. The doctor suggested that it was possibly an allergic reaction. I started giving Annika Claritin and it seemed to help so the doctor went ahead and ordered an allergy test. The results came in and it turns out she's allergic to mold.

It's really moist where we live and often foggy. Before we moved into our house the management office told us to look out for mold and regularily clean the windows with bleach water. Guess I'll have to scrub a little more often.
